What is recorded when you check a code

The code, the answer, the time, and whether you came through the website or the API.

One scrambled value made from your network address and browser. It lets the issuer count checks within a day. The key used to make it is replaced every day and the old one is deleted, so a check today cannot be linked to a check tomorrow, or to you.

Nothing else. No name, no account, no location.

What this site does not do

It sets no cookies.

It runs no analytics and loads nothing from any other company.

When you scan a QR, the picture is read on your device. Nothing from the camera is uploaded.

What the issuer can see

That one of its documents was checked, when, and what the answer was. It cannot see who checked.
